Yamaha Music Australia is a subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation, established in Japan in 1887, and is the world’s biggest and only musical product manufacturer that offers a comprehensive range of products in music, home entertainment and education.
The Yamaha Home Audio website strategy was primarily focused around brand awareness and driving dealer visits. They had an outdated version of Magento 1.x at the time that had limited support.
They wanted to improve overall user experience and customer order processes in order to stand out in their industry. With this goal in mind, a complete website revamp was due.
We helped them migrate from Magento 1.x to Magento 2 Enterprise . All historical data – customers, products, orders, coupons – had to be migrated seamlessly to the new platform. We solved a UX challenge of linking the cart & checkout on Magento with the main company website which was built on a different platform. As for their e-commerce focus, we also developed a custom eBay store design and created a sync with Magento so that products only needed to be maintained on one platform. Magento was also made to integrate with their internal CRM software, making it easier for their team to fulfill orders through a single system.
